Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)

Also known as the northern lights. Many ethnics such as Inuits (”Eskimo” is considered pejorative to Canadian Inuits) worship the northern lights to be their deceased ancestors dancing with their Goddesses. Also, auroras are also considered sacred to ancient Rome and was the name of the Roman Goddess of dawn. Aurora borealis, specifically, is could be seen in the sky of northern hemisphere (mostly on far-north or near the northern magnetic pole: Alaska, Quebec, Yukon, Greenland, Russia). Aurora australis, on the other hand, is visible only at the far-south, eg. Antartica, South America (Ushuaia, Punta Arenas probably), New Zealand. For the cause of aurora phenomenon, please refer to en.wikipedia.org Music: Amguulan - The Power of True Love Picture sources: www.bergoiata.org www.alaskatrekker.com www.pfrr.alaska.edu www.hickerphoto.com en.wikipedia.org www.flickr.com and other flickr users. Very thanks for the photos and music, also to you, who are looking at here now! ^^

I’ve never been more north than Hong Kong before. If I have a chance, I would travel there just to see those lights.

Great video and wonderful song! Do you have a translation? Keep up your good work…I’m trying to decide whether or not to return to Alaska…this certainly pushes me to “Yes!”

YOU MUST!!! I lived in Alaska for a while and of all the natural experiences I have had, dancing with the Lights was the best! (58 years’ worth of living). Up in the bush I was told by a native to whistle and the Lights would dance with me - grow very large - it was true! One night they completely grew to fill the whole sky from horizon to horizon….No matter what else you accomplish, GO see the Lights!
